Soy candles first became available after 1992, when they were formulated as an economical alternative to candles made from beeswax or paraffin. Because the candles are made from soy wax, which is a renewable resource from soybean producing farms, one could argue that shopping for discount soy candles rather than paraffin candles could positively impact the North American agricultural economy! Another big benefit of them is the fact that they do not leave the soot that is common with traditional candles.
