Sinus tarsi syndrome is a disorder in the calcaneus which can take place during an ankle sprain. The sinus tarsi is a little canal between the 2 bones from the ankle joint which has a lots of structures inside it. These might get sprained during an ankle sprain but is often missed during the severe inflammation of the ankle sprain. This turns up later when long-term soreness following the ankle strain.
