How To Really Optimise The Pages Of Your WebSite

Google SEO has long been the most effective system for sending traffic to the page of your website. SEO techniques are split into two categories, on page and off page, off page optimisation is all about creating the right kind of links back to your site, but for the purposes of this article we are going to concentrate on the things you will do on page to increase the position of your website pages.
On page optimisation is all about using your target keywords in the correct places of your page, there are certain areas of your page that make it better optimised compared with other places. These are the areas you should focus on and make as relevant as possible to your target keyword.
The first area and most important area is the title tag of your page, this is one of the first things Google reads when it enters your page and should be as descriptive as possible. Use your keywords prominently within the tag, however keep it looking natural, remember your title tag is to use your keywords in but it also needs to be able to attract a click.
Up until recently heading tags have always been used to give focus to your keywords, however recent studies suggests that heading tags are no longer an effective way of providing this. Instead use your keyword and other variations within the main content of your text, preferably towards the beginning of your main content.
Another very good area to use your keywords is in the alt text of the images on your site, this has been recently proven to have great correlation with high positions and will even bring image search users to your site.
The thing about on page optimisation is to keep it is as natural as you can, key phrase stuffing or unnatural use of keywords will soon cause a penalty and your sites rankings will fall.
