Experiencing the Palm Springs Desert

Encountering the Palm Springs Desert

Palm Springs is really a place of stark elegance, originally named for the oasis of palm trees and natural springs found in the desert by the United States Topographical engineers in 1853. Palm Springs resorts has, throughout the decades, been often called the playground of the stars, silent film stars came to the popular filming location to make films since 1919. The rich and famous such as the Vanderbilts, Hearsts, Shirley Temple, Clark Gable, Charlton Heston, Frank Sinatra as well as Lucille Ball have discovered this natural resort.

Today Palm Springs remains acknowledged for the stunning landscape, and contemporary attractions including upscale hotels, palm springs vacation rentals, restaurants, shopping and golfing. Golfing is what the area specializes in, with more than 100 golf courses in and surrounding Palm Springs, showcasing some of the most strikingly beautiful courses in the world, and with constant sun to boot. The weather is sunny and dry with just 15-20 days of rainfall a year; November to April the normal daytime temperature ranges in the 70s and nighttime temperatures are in the 40s while the remainder of the year brings 95-115 degree days and 70 degree nights.

As a traveler, I, myself, recommend the area for families with kids or couples looking to get away and have a soothing, romantic escape. Though they obviously require different things, A Palm Springs Vacation is a bit more than capable of satisfying your wildest dreams in ways you didn’t even think possible, just like they do mine virtually every year.
